Over the past 15 years we have developed a very strong and authentic partnership with the Dharawal elders and community.
In 2013, our Director Catherine Lee, co-authored Authentic Inclusions of Aboriginal Culture in collaboration by Mary Jacobs – Educator, Les Bursill – Dharawal Elder and Dharawal Knowledge Holder and Peter Morgan – musician and educator.
The book was launched at the preschool in 2014 by Linda Burney Hon D Ed, Dip Ed, MP
State Member for Canterbury, NSW; Deputy Leader of the Opposition; Shadow Minister for Family and Community Services; Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Education; Shadow Minister for Aboriginal Affairs.
The book showcases the practices of The Point Preschool to support other early childcare centres and schools to promote authentic inclusion. All proceeds from the sale of the book go directly to Dharawal Publishing – a not for profit company. This profit is then used to publish other materials.
